- BIPs are infrastructure projects constructed to help spark or sustain economic
growth in barangays and other communities, and to demonstrate the determination of the
GRP and USAID to be responsive to the needs of Mindanao’s religious and cultural minorities.
- Costs range from $5,000 to $50,000 per project.
- Mostly located in the ARMM and nearby conflict-affected areas.
- Proponents are local government units, existing cooperatives or producer associations with
good track records.
- Target number of projects: 1,000 in GEM 3 BIPs approved to date:
